Born in Rochester NY in 1953, to a family with a musical background, Danny relocated to San Jose CA in 1977, where he continued his interest in the bass guitar. In 1980 he met Chris Cain and together they formed the Chris Cain Band. Since then, Danny has performed with Deacon Jones & his Bucket of Blues, The Andy Just Blues Band, The Gary Smith Blues Band, and The Ford Blues Band. He has also on occasion backed up such performers as Jackie Payne, Luther Tucker, Arkansas Larry Davis, Barbara Morrison, Miss Dee, Tommy Castro and Nick Gravanites to name a few. Danny having a father as an accomlished harmonica player, has been playing the harmonica on and off since the age of five. Now in his midlife years. The Jumpin Jukes is Danny's first musical sculpture and & it's just something he had to do before he kicks, he says. He was encouraged and influenced by his parents, Teresa & Phil and by his Uncle Sam of Sammy Rhine His Orchestra in NY. Other infuences were Catfish, & Jerry Porter from the ole hang out in NY in the 60's, John Mayall, Paul Butterfield,Jerry Murad of the Harmonicats, Jazz Gillum, Freeman Stowers, Jaybird Coleman, Chuck Darling, Sonnyboy Williamson, and De Ford Bailey all of whom have made Danny a well rounded performer.
